At 2:00 yesterday, the outside temperature was sitting at 109 degrees. In East Texas, mind you. Not in Abilene or Lubbock. But in beautiful used-to-be green East Texas.
Our temperature has been over 100 every day for more than three weeks. Over all, it's been over 100 for 33 days so far this summer. Unheard of for this area. Oh, sure, we hit 100 degrees every summer, but not for this long a stretch.
But this afternoon, we got a quarter of an inch of blessed rain, and the temp dropped 20 degrees. It was a wonderful relief! Made folks want to go outside and do the happy dance!
