Do you ever get those letters in the mail, announcing that you've been pre-approved for a credit card? I hate those! In the first place, I don't like anybody meddling around checking my credit, and in the second place, it's just more junk mail that has to go through the shredder.
Well, I noticed this in a catalog I got today (more junk mail!), and thought I should pass along the info:
If you do not want to receive prescreened offers of credit from this and other companies, call the consumer reporting agencies toll-free, 1-888-567-8688; or write: Experian, PO Box 919, Allen, TX 75013; TransUnion, PO Box 97328, Jackson, MS 39288; Equifax, PO Box 740123, Atlanta, GA 30374.
