Barbara and Kevin met us and we had a great time.

Just look at those Tucker kids! Barbara is nearly as tall as her big brother.

This is a shot of the river taxi that ferries people up and down the Colorado River in the area where we were staying.

And this is one of the two beautiful fountains at our hotel. Doesn't it make you want to just take off your shoes and dip your toes in it?

While we were there, Barbara and Kevin took us to Oatman, Arizona to see the wild burros. Isn't the scenery gorgeous?! This is along Route 66.

See the sticker on the baby burro's head? It's a warning to not feed the babies because they will choke to death on carrots and such.

They don't let the jacks into town because they tend to tear up the place, kick over motorcycles, and such. Lonnie and I couldn't figure out just how they keep them out, though, since the females and babies wander around as they please. I guess they just don't give the jacks hall passes!
This fellow was quite entertaining.

And we witnessed a gun fight in the street while we were there. I couldn't hear what the trouble was, but fortunately, the participants all walked away.

And they can't say they weren't warned!

Oatman was formerly a mining town, then became a ghost town that refused to die.

LT, trying to hitch a ride ...

This is the Post Office in Oatman. Fits right in with the rest of the architecture.

By the time we left Oatman, the wind was getting pretty fierce. That evening, it got up to 66 MPH, and the sandstorm was something! Two other cities in the area had hurricane-strength winds. I was glad we got back down to our hotel when we did!
And then it was time to say goodbye.

Boy, it's good to be home again!
