Hollis Reunion 2014

We drove down to Willis yesterday for the annual Hollis reunion. It's a 4-1/2 hour drive each direction, and today, I can hardly walk. I'm beginning to think next month's trip to Alabama might not happen.

Anyway, I understand the total headcount was 79. There were some folks there I haven't seen in way more years than I care to mention, but lots of others were missing.

This is my aunt, Velma Ann (Uncle Mack's wife), with their granddaughter Austyn (Eric's baby).

This is my cousin Stella (Aunt Jean's youngest) with her granddaughter Abigail (Amanda's baby).

This is my cousin Linda (Aunt Marie's oldest). I haven't seen her in a bazillion years.

This is Jeannie (Aunt Marie's youngest) with Mama. I haven't seen her in forever either. In the background: my sister Gail in the blue/white top, my husband Lonnie in the hat and red shirt; Gail's husband Bruce in the pink shirt (sitting with his back to the camera), and D.B.'s grandson John in the green shirt.

The short lady in the blue top (second from left) is my cousin Jeanette (Uncle Jay's oldest), and the one in red (fourth from left) is her sister Margaret. I can't tell you the names of the other folks in the picture. Such is the way of family reunions!

This is my nephew Chuckie (Gail's youngest). He claims he gets his sense of style from my older brother, Buddy.

When we came back yesterday evening, we stopped at the Los Pinos Ranch just outside of Pittsburg, for a bite of supper. It used to be the Los Pinos Winery, but the owners, Jeff the vintner and Dana the chef, divorced last year, and Dana ended up with the place. I guess she changed the name and the logo. We haven't been out there since then, but they've done some remodeling. There is now a patio out front, and they've moved the jazz band out there. The place was really crowded and we had to sit inside instead of out on the porch. It was still nice, but you couldn't hear the band at all.
