Yours truly is a brand-new, very naive director on the Board of the Daingerfield Chamber of Commerce.
One of the first orders of business was to plan for the annual awards banquet to be held on February 27. [Now, pardon me, but I don't rightly know why the previous Board hadn't already begun working on this!] The theme is "Time Capsule" and directors were assigned tables to decorate (mine is the "roaring twenties").
Today, I got a supply of tickets to sell (how many do you want?) and a flyer to put up at my office. I read on the flyer that the directors will be performing skits. SKITS??? Now just one doggone minute! I didn't volunteer for any skit! Can't you just see me in a flapper dress, prancing around on the stage?! I can't. Although, come to think of it, that might be worth the price of admission in itself. How many tickets did you say you wanted?
