Lonnie and I just got back from Galveston. I took a week off from work so we could go on a dead ancestor hunt. What we found were some living cousins! That's Shirley on the left, who's married to Charles on the right. Second from the left is Tony, who is married to Kathryn, in the center. Second from the right is Annette, Tony's sister, who was married to Kathryn & Charles's brother, Bill (deceased). Kathryn had us all come over for supper and served lasagna and a beautiful salad, and topped it all off with a great cake and coffee.

This is all that's left of one of the piers that used to jut out from the shore. Hurricane Ike took it away last year. We watched men and machinery move huge granite boulders as they rebuild the jetties.

But the seagulls are constant. Rain, shine, or hurricane -- they're always there!

This is where we stayed -- the Hotel Galvez, on the Seawall. Beautiful old historic place.
