The Impatient Patient

I mentioned that Lonnie spent a few days in the hospital, right? I think somebody should remind him that before he was discharged, the doctor told him to take a couple of weeks before he started driving, mowing, or playing golf.

His old lawn mower finally gave up the ghost, and he bought a new one the day he had to go to the hospital, and it just nearly killed him that he couldn't use it. He finally agreed to let me use it, but only because we were going to have to bale hay in the front yard if something wasn't done. So after I got the front and sides mowed, we started working in the flower beds, pulling out vines and junk that was beginning to take over. He only quit because I gave out.

So, today, it's all drizzly outside and he decided it was the perfect day to burn that pile of scrap wood and stuff that he's been collecting for, what, about two years now.

He just can't sit still, much less sit still in the house!

I was peeling shrimp at the kitchen sink, and keeping an eye on him and his fire out the kitchen window. All of a sudden, I heard this whump, whump, whump, and dropped what I was doing to see what in the world was going on. There he was with a big ol' axe, chopping out a root from the pine tree. I give up! Take it easy is easier said than done!
