I am participating in the Wills for Heroes event this coming Saturday, the 17th. We are having it in Gilmer this year. We'll be preparing simple wills (no trusts), medical powers of attorney, general powers of attorney, and directives to physicians - free of charge - to U.S. military veterans and their spouses.
After Andrea (as President) made the decision to have it there instead of here in Daingerfield, I discovered that the veterans service office over there has been closed. Nobody at the American Legion Hall answers the phone, and we've had a hard time getting the word out. So far, all the veterans we've had to sign up have been from everywhere BUT Gilmer. If you know anybody over that way, pass the word.
