Back to our Roots

I'm finally getting back into my genealogy research a bit. Lonnie and I traveled across country to see Laura and her family, and to attend the Masters Tournament on Saturday. Long, long drive there and back, but we broke it up on the way out there by traveling across south Alabama in search of an old Tucker family cemetery.

It took a while to find it, but find it, we did. I took about 100 photos, and we talked on the phone with Emory Tucker, who sort of oversees the place. His son, Bob, does the mowing.

I also looked up a website I've often read about, but haven't done anything with. It's a place to upload or search for photos, even those of people you don't know names for. I have a handful of photos from WWII, of men who were in Torpedo Squadron One in 1943. The pics have names on the backs, some full names and addresses, and some just last names, but I've not been able to find the families of these men. I may upload them to DeadFred.com and see whether anybody will step forward to claim them.
