Well, hello!

I knew it had been a long time since I've posted anything, but didn't realize it was Christmas! Gosh, let's see ...

There have been several birthdays since my last post, and Lonnie & I celebrated our 5th anniversary in February.

We came really close to losing D.B., but we were down there Friday, and he looks great. He spent nearly a week in the hospital, and has been doing so well ever since he came home. When we were there a few weeks ago, I took him and Phillip matching camo caps. His comment was "If I put this on, nobody can see me!"

Amanda had a modeling job at the Longview mall this weekend, and we went by yesterday to see her. She looked so pretty in her black dress and heels. Such a contrast from her usual camo and muddy 4-wheeler!

I took Carrie to Fort Worth Thursday. Being married to a mechanic, she was concerned about a noise she was hearing in my car. It's been doing that so long that I don't think about it any more. Anyway, when we got back to her house, Lonny looked at it and told me it was too dangerous for me to drive home in it! Something about a rack and pinion. Anyway, they ordered the part, which is in, but can't get it worked on until tomorrow. Lonnie had to drive down there and pick me up since the kids are holding my car hostage. Good thing I have a spare! I took Baby out this afternoon just to be sure her battery was charged and all, since I'll be driving her until the other car is fixed. I had just about forgotten how much fun it is to drive that car!

I don't usually read Lonnie's AARP newspaper, but for some reason, I looked at the one he received a few days ago, and found this really interesting article entitled "Kitchen Scraps"...

Use the inside of a banana peel to shine shoes, then buff. Or add it to a roasting pan to help tenderize meat. Put cucumber peels in spots to repel household insects or put them in baths to soften skin. Rub a cut potato over mud-stained clothing before laundering. Use lemon peels to polish chrome, or add to the kindling in your fireplace for a pleasing scent.
